Rate capability of CMS ME0 stack at the GIF++
/CMS Collaboration
A ME0 station of 6 layers of triple-GEM detectors will be built to instrument the very forward region of both CMS end-caps. The first 4-layer stack has been assembled and operated in the 904 laboratory as well as in test beams.
The goal of this analysis is to determine the rate capability of the single GEM chambers in a GIF++ test beam campaign in July
2023..

PPS Performance 2024
Efficiency and two-arm vertex resolution with timing detectors
/CMS Collaboration
The Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) is a forward-proton spectrometer using near-
beam detectors (inside Roman Pots, RPs) located symmetrically on both sides of IP5 at a
distance of about 220 m.
In addition to the tracking system, the timing detectors measure the Time-Of-Flight
(TOF) of the protons produced in central exclusive interactions.
In 2024, one cylindrical and one box RPs on each sector were equipped with four
double-diamond planes.
This note describes: the efficiency of single sensors and of the TOF system; the resolution of the timing system in two-arm events, where both interacting protons are detected by the PPS detectors. Using low pileup data ($\mu$ = interactions/crossing = 1)
and selecting central diffractive events a strong correlation is observed between the time
difference of the protons detected in PPS, and the longitudinal vertex position
reconstructed in the central CMS tracker..

Study of correlation between baseline current and Hit Rate in GE1/1 chambers at the CMS Experiment
/CMS Collaboration
The phase-II upgrade of the CMS Muon System includes the addition of three new Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) stations --- GE1/1, GE2/1, and ME0 --- to extend the detector's acceptance up to a pseudorapidity of $\lvert \eta \rvert \sim 2.8$. Achieving this requires that the detectors must tolerate the high levels of background radiation expected in the forward endcap regions for the High-Luminosity LHC, with a high rate capability as part of their requirements.
