CEMTM "The White Rabbit Collaboration"
/ Serrano, Javier (speaker) (CERN)
White Rabbit (WR) is an open-source synchronisation technology born at CERN and developed with other institutes and companies. It is commercially available from several vendors, and its adoption in industry and academia increased significantly after it was standardised as part of the Precise Time Protocol (IEEE 1588). [...]

Initial stage jet momentum broadening in a Light-Front Hamiltonian approach
/ Lamas, Carlos (speaker) (IGFAE-USC)
We study the momentum broadening of a high energy quark jet in the high-density gluon medium created right after the collision of two ultrarrelativistic heavy nuclei, the Glasma. Previous Glasma studies consider the jet as a classical probe particle, for which position and momentum are simultaneously determined. [...]

Catching Dense Spectra at Large Spin
/ Pal, Sridip (speaker) (Caltech)
We prove that in any unitary, modular-invariant 2d CFT with central charge $c>1$, a normalizable vacuum, and a twist gap in the spectrum of Virasoro primaries, there exists a continuous family of twist accumulation points above $(c-1)/12$ [the BTZ threshold]. We derive an asymptotic formula for the number of spin-J Virasoro primaries within a fixed twist window, as $J\to\infty$ [...]

Superintelligent Agents Pose Catastrophic Risks: Can Scientist AI Offer a Safer Path?
/ Bengio, Yoshua (speaker) (Université de Montreal)
The leading AI companies are increasingly focused on building generalist AI agents — systems that can autonomously plan, act, and pursue goals across almost all tasks that humans can perform. Despite how useful these systems might be, unchecked AI agency poses significant risks to public safety and security, ranging from misuse by malicious actors to a potentially irreversible loss of human control [...]

Fresh results (and surprises) from the James Webb Space Telescope
/ Fontana, Adriano (speaker) (INAF Rome Observatory)
In less than three years since the release of the first data, the James Webb Space Telescope has revolutionised our knowledge and understanding of the Universe.
My talk will be a non-specialist review of the concept and current status of the mission, that is designed around an innovative technology combining unprecedented collecting area and IR sensitivity, and of some of the latest results, covering a wide range of topics from the exploration of our solar system, the atmosphere of exoplanets and the search for extraterrestrial life, the evolution of galaxies and black holes in the young Universe.
