An integrated airborne transmission risk assessment model for respiratory viruses: short- and long-range contributions
/ Henriques, Andre (CERN ; Geneva U.) ; Jia, Wei (Hong Kong U.) ; Aleixo, Luis (CERN) ; Mounet, Nicolas (CERN) ; Fontana, Luca (Unlisted, CH) ; Simniceanu, Alice (Geneva U. ; Unlisted, CH) ; Devine, James (CERN) ; Elson, Philip (CERN) ; Azzopardi, Gabriella (CERN) ; Rognlien, Markus (CERN ; Norwegian U. Sci. Tech.) et al.
This study presents an advanced airborne transmission risk assessment model that integrates both short- and long-range routes in the spread of respiratory viruses, building upon the CERN Airborne Model for Indoor Risk Assessment (CAiMIRA) and aligned with the new World Health Organization (WHO) terminology. Thanks to a two-stage exhaled jet approach, the model accurately simulates short-range exposures, thereby improving infection risk predictions across diverse indoor settings. [...]

Testing aspects of the CERN beam interlock system prior to installation in the accelerator
/ Colinet, Antoine (CERN) ; Martin, Christophe (CERN) ; Romera, Iván (CERN) ; Uythoven, Jan (CERN) ; Secondo, Raffaello (CERN) ; Bolton, Samuel (CERN) ; Guasch-Martinez, Josep (CERN)
The Beam Interlock System (BIS) is the backbone of the machine protection system throughout the accelerator complex at CERN, from LINAC4 to the LHC. After 15 years of flawless operation, a new version of the BIS is currently being produced and will be installed in the LHC, SPS and North Area during CERN’s Long Shutdown 3, planned to start in 2026. Toward a pulsed antihydrogen beam for WEP tests in AEgIS
/ Huck, Saiva (CERN ; Hamburg U.) ; Auzins, Marcis (Latvia U.) ; Bergmann, Benedikt (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Burian, Petr (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Brusa, Roberto S (Trento U. ; TIFPA-INFN, Trento) ; Camper, Antoine (Oslo U.) ; Caravita, Ruggero (Trento U. ; TIFPA-INFN, Trento) ; Castelli, Fabrizio (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Ciuryło, Roman (Torun, Copernicus Astron. Ctr.) ; Consolati, Giovanni (INFN, Milan ; Milan Polytechnic) et al.
The AEg̅IS collaboration at CERN’s AD produces antihydrogen atoms in the form of a pulsed, isotropic source with a precisely defined formation time. AEg̅IS has recently undergone major upgrades to fully benefit from the increased number of colder antiprotons provided by the new ELENA decelerator and to move toward forming a horizontal beam to directly investigate the influence of gravity on the H̅ atoms, thereby probing the Weak Equivalence Principle for antimatter. Cryogenic Current Comparators (CCC) are ultrasensitive DC-Beam Transformers based on superconducting SQUID technology. With the aim to provide a robust and high resolution intensity measurement for application at FAIR and CERN machines, numerous steps of optimization were carried out over the last years by a collaboration of institutes specialized on the various subtopics. Constraining hadronization processes with charmed baryons in pp and p–Pb collisions with ALICE
/ Seo, Jinjoo (Inha U.)
/ALICE Collaboration
The latest measurements of D0, D+ and Ds+ mesons with the final measurements of Λc+,Ξc0,+, Σc0,++, and the first measurement of Ωcc baryons performed with the ALICE detector at midrapidity in pp collisions √S = 5.02 TeV and √S = 13 TeV are presented. Furthermore, the recent Λc+/D0 yield ratio, measured down to pT = 0 in p-Pb collisions are discussed. [...]

High fidelity numerical modelling and condition monitoring applied to septum magnets at CERN
/ Kawa, Krzysztof (CERN ; AGH-UST, Cracow) ; Szumlak, Tomasz (AGH-UST, Cracow) ; Kokkinos, Charilaos (Unlisted, GR) ; Lackner, Friedrich (CERN)
The CERN Accelerator Beam Transfer group has recently launched a study to investigate the life cycles of pulsed septum magnets. The development is aiming to enhance the prediction of anomalies, leading to reduced life cycles of these beam transfer equipment. [...]
